FAQ
Your questions, answered.
Is this a real star?+
Yes. Every completed dedication will be associated with a real astronomical star identified in an established star catalogue.
Will the star officially be renamed?+
No. Scientific astronomical names and catalogue designations remain unchanged. Your chosen name is a symbolic dedication recorded permanently in our private commemorative registry.
Do I own the star?+
No. A star dedication does not provide legal ownership of a celestial body.
What do I receive?+
A personalised digital certificate, information about your real catalogued star, its coordinates and constellation, unique registry number, personal dedication and permanent online registry entry.
How quickly will I receive it?+
Once the automated system is live, orders should be generated and delivered digitally immediately after successful payment.
Can I give it as a gift?+
Yes. The entire experience is designed around gifting.
Is anything posted to me?+
No. A Star of Their Own is intentionally a completely digital gifting experience.
